1931SummerA colony of these birds in a tamarack s\ommp north of St. Paul contained about 75 nests. This colony was visited by seYeral. visit9rs. Risser on Hay 27th found a nest with 3 eggs, three nests with 4 eggs each, ;md one nest with 3 small youne. On June 18th there were nests in all staees from those with one egg to those with fully r;rown nestlings. Least Bittern; One nest on June 20th with one egg. (Risser and Donald Fischer).
1932SummerA heronry of this species two miles north of St. Paul was visited by several neobers, eggs nunbering 4 & !) to a S'ilt being seen first on May 8 (John Dobie).
1933Summer Several records were obtained on the colony north of St. Paul. The site was visited by Swanson, Risser enci th43 writer on April Jot~ and the above oentianed persons were greatly surprised io f'ind a number of nests with 2 to 4 eggs. William Cumnins.found that on May 17th the nests still contained varrying number of eggs, up to 4, and counted about 70 nests. Swanson found many nests with young on May 24th. '
1934Summer On Ms:ry 19th Hiemenz visited the colony at Hutchinson, 1-icLecn County, with Mr. Ehoi.l:1. About 60 pairs of herons were present, most of them rebuilding nests. One nest, however, held one fresh oeg. Dr. Clare C. Prost~er reports 2 nests found near NontroscJ, Stearns County, on August 9th. There were 6 or 7 adults and young :in the tree-topsnearby. · '
1935Summer Breckenridge, Dr. C. C. Prosser, and Robert Turner of the Bird Club went with Dr. Roberts' bird class Juno 3rd to an extensive Night Heron colony ncar St. Paul in P~~sey County. The colony \oTas in a. tamarack swo.rup, nnd the limber tamaracks had been whipped about in the l-Tind so rauch that many of the pale green eggs had been s pillod from the nests in the tops. Prosser wallred through the swamp sc~ing up the birds, and the other observers, who stood at a. distance, estimated that there were 200 birds in the air. Four nests contained 4 eggs, 1 nest contained 2 eggs, and the eggs of a. sixth nust examined had been spilled to earth.
1938SummerAt the Lake Owasso heronry, Ram­sey County, Dr. Roberts' Bird Class found nests with eggs and small young on May 23. On July 2, K. Carlander observed at the heronry many nests with eggs or young, and some almost ready to fl.y.

1944Summer100. Brother Hubert recorded an in­crease of 68 nests in the St. Paul colony, from 32 on June 15 to 100 on August 18.

1946SummerEggs, May 12, Anoka Co., young out of nests on June 13, Bro. Hubert. A.bout 100 nests were counted. A colony just north of St. Paul has gone the way of most large heron colonies. All the trees are dead, and the birds no longer find conditions there to their liking.
1961SummerDave Pearson reports a nest with three eggs at Swan Lake on 6 July.
